Happy New Year....now here goes....
Welcome to the "soft" launch of www.shadbelly.com, a style blog for the dressage obsessed. I am an adult amateur with not even a glimmer of a shadbelly in my future, yet I find playing with different styles, watching others who are pushing the style envelope a bit, and even just the process of planning a coordinate "look" for me and my horse, are some of the reasons I love the sport of dressage.
In my humble opinion, US dressage style could use a little bit of shaking up. I've had tack store owners tell me over and over "you can't wear that for dressage"...well watch me! We'll explore the recent loosening of the dressage attire guidelines by the USEF and figure out together how to get out of those frumpy old dressage coats we've all been stuck in for years. There's lots to talk about! We may be vastly different in the way we feed, shoe and train our horses, but even the most polar opposite dressage riders can find common ground and talk browbands!
So thanks for checking us out. We're still busy working out the kinks, but we welcome your ideas!
