Not your typical dressage rider....
Sure, we're all familiar with some of the "celebrity" dressage riders here in the US: Massachusetts First Lady Ann Romney, actress Portia de Rossi, and Sex in the City author Candace Bushnell have all trotted down centerline. But the UK dressage community was turned topsy turvey when Katie Price, model, author and reality TV star, declared that "dressage is now my passion".
Katie felt traditional riding clothes were too boring, so she started her own KP Equestrian line and later KP Pony, apparel for children. You've got to give the girl credit. According to Wikipedia, Katie's net worth is about 45 million UK - that'll get you a nice dressage horse or two.
This is all old news now and the buzz has clearly grown weary. Katie seems to have parted ways with her original partner, equestrian retailer Derby House, but the line is still available on her own website www.kpequestrian.com. So is/was Katie's vision the solution to boring dressage apparel? Check it out. Now when we ask if something is "too KP", you'll know exactly what we mean.
